NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASES

Public notice is hereby given, in compliance with the provisions of Neb. Rev. Stat. § 77-1633, that a representative of the following political subdivisions will meet on the 27th day of September, 2022 at 6:15 p.m., at Plainview Public Library, 209 N Pine St., Plainview, NE, for the purpose of conducting a joint public hearing to obtain public input on property tax increases proposed by the following subdivisions:

City of Pierce, (402-329-4164), property tax requested: ($739,017.00)

City of Plainview, (402-582-4928), property tax requested: ($400,874.05)

Osmond Community Schools, (402-748-3777), property tax requested: ($3,236,027.00)

Pierce Public Schools, (402-329-4677), property tax requested: ($7,741,731.00)  

Plainview Public Schools, (402-582-4993), property tax requested: ($5,560,606.00)  

Said meeting is open to the public. Accommodations for the disabled are available upon request. Please contact the Pierce County Clerk at 402-329-4225 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting if accommodations are required.

There is no item on the agenda for this joint public meeting other than discussion of each political subdivision’s intent to increase its property tax request by a percentage greater than the “allowable growth percentage” defined in § 77-1633. The political subdivisions shall make their presentations in the order listed above.

 

PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Pierce County Visitors Bureau will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Pierce County Courthouse, Multipurpose Room, 111 W. Court Street, Pierce, NE, which meeting will be open to the public. An agenda for such meeting, kept continuously current, is available for public inspection at the office of Shannon Wragge, Pierce County Clerk.

NOTICE TO LANDOWNERS AND FARMERS

Pierce County Road Department will be mowing all county roads, excluding minimum maintenance roads, in June and again in September 2022 (SS 39–1811).  If there is planting within the county right-of-way (33’ from center of road) it will be mowed (SS 29-1702 and 39-1812). 

It is also the responsibility of the landowner or farmer to see that no irrigation water infringes on county right-of-way.  Violators will be prosecuted.
