Notice is hereby given that the Pierce County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing at their regular meeting on Monday, July 30, 2018 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Pierce County Courthouse, 111 W. Court Street, Pierce, Nebraska.  The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comments concerning the application of Josh Flesner for a Conditional Use Permit to build a house on less than 40 acres on FLESNER LOT SPLIT located in the SE¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 23, Township 26 North, Range 3 West of the 6th P.M., Pierce County, Nebraska.  This property is located approximately 3 ½ miles west of Pierce, Nebraska on 545th Ave.

Court Street, Pierce, Nebraska.  The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comments concerning the application of Rob & Hillary Broekemeier for a Conditional Use Permit to build a house on less than 40 acres on BROEKEMEIER LOT SPLIT located in the NW¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 8, Township 27 North, Range 2 West of the 6th P.M., Pierce County, Nebraska.  This property is located approximately 1 mile south of the City of Osmond, Nebraska.

NOTICE OF BOARD OF EQUALIZATION HEARINGS

The Pierce County Board of Commissioners will convene as the Pierce County Board of Equalization for the purpose of hearing 2018 property valuation protests on the following dates:  Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. and Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.     A final decision will be made on all heard protests on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.   Each owner of property filing a protest of value will receive notice of date and time of hearing.   An agenda of dates and times is available in the office of the Pierce County Clerk.   All hearings will be conducted in the County Commissioners meeting room in the Pierce County Courthouse.

RESOLUTION #2018 - 14
PIERCE COUNTY, NEBRASKA

WHEREAS, the Pierce County Board of Commissioners directed the County Highway Superintendent to study the use of the county road, 545 Avenue, between Sections 35/36 less the north 1000’ in Blaine Township in Township 25 North, Range 3 West of the 6th Principal Meridian, Pierce County Nebraska.

WHEREAS, a written report of the use of the road has been completed by the Highway Superintendent and is filed with the County Clerk

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Pierce County, Nebraska, that a public hearing date be set for Monday, July 16, 2018 at 9:10  A.M. to consider whether or not to vacate or abandon road.  The County Clerk is hereby directed to send copies of this resolution by registered or certified mail to the abutting and adjacent landowners.

HELP WANTED

Pierce County is accepting bids for a Licensed Bridge Inspector for 2018.  The County will furnish a pickup, laptop computer, printer (NDOR program with all of the county bridges) and be covered under the county’s liability insurance.   There are approximately 50 plus bridges that need to be inspected in the calendar year and uploaded to the NE Dept. of Roads Bridge Program.  Bids must be submitted on the proposal form obtained from the Pierce County Clerk.
